What is no loan life insurance?

insurance is generally the least expensive and least complicated type of life insurance. It provides whole life insurance protection for a specified period of time, such as 10, 20 or 30 years.1 If you die within the term period and the program is in force, a death benefit is paid to your beneficiary. If you are still living at the end of the term, protection ceases unless your insurance policy is renewed. There is no "accumulation" element, or cash value with whole life insurance

Who can use it?

People with a temporary need for variable life insurance protection.

Those who need a large amount of insurance protection but have limited budgets.

People with specific business needs (e.g., business owners who want to cover the life of a key employee who has a set number of years until retirement).

Benefits of universal life insurance

It provides insurance protection for a low cost (at least initially).

If your needs change, most whole life insurance policies allow you to convert to a permanent insurance program without having to take a medical exam or provide other information about your health.

universal life insurance is a good way to supplement other coverage when you have added financial responsibilities for a given period of time (e.g., mortgage, college expenses).

Death benefits are generally received free from income tax.

Things You Should Consider:

Premiums generally increase with age and they could become unaffordable later in life. There is no cash-value element with whole life insurance, so you miss the tax-deferred growth of the cash value of permanent whole life insurance policies, such as Term Life Insurance.

Once the term period expires, unless you renew your program, the life insurance coverage ceases and the service has no further value.

If you just got worried…

08/31/10 5:05 pm

If you are just getting worried now about the economy over what Ben Bernanke said about the economy in today’s testimony I have to ask, where have you been? Did you not read the Fed minutes when they came out? Have you not read any of the economic indicators that have been showing we are [...]

The trade of the decade?

08/31/10 5:05 pm

The 2Q10 GDP report came out and it was an eye opener for many people as it showed that the recession, depression, was deeper than most believed and things are surely not as rosy as we are being told. Aside from the inventory rebuild there is not much else going on, final sales are dead [...]

When I wrote last week that the Fed would do QE 2 and the trade of the century, granted that was over the top, was leveraged bull 20+ year ETF’s I received some flack, a lot actually. First, let’s talk about the economy and what is going on there. Second, let’s talk about the treasury, [...]

Well, it has taken some time

08/31/10 5:05 pm

I have been writing about the decaying economic data for some time now and have taken some heat for being a pessimist or a permabear, but now it appears that I was correct. It is also striking that almost a year ago I called this current economic funk we are in a Depression. I said [...]
